What are preventive services?

Weekly intensive assessment and case management services designed to help families struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse problems develop skills and resources to ensure that children will remain safe in the home and to prevent children from entering foster care.

How can families participate?

  • Families already enrolled in UBA’s Family Treatment and Rehabilitation program who have parents with a substance abuse history are already eligible to participate in the Regional Partnership Grant program.
  • Families with parents in substance abuse treatment and already working with ACS can request to receive these services from UBA.
  • We also welcome families to contact us directly to obtain more information about services.

Who does the program serve?

The program provides services to families with parents who are actively misusing alcohol or substances (or have a substance abuse history), who also have an open and indicated ACS case, who reside in the Bronx, and who have children between the ages of 0 and 18 living in the home.

Where are services provided?

Most services are delivered at the Montefiore Wellness Center, Melrose at 260 East 161st Street, Bronx, NY 10451. Services can sometimes also be arranged at other locations throughout the Bronx by contacting UBA.

How long are services provided for?

Services are typically provided for a period of 9 months.

Is transportation or childcare available?

Are services provided in Spanish?

Yes.

Why should a family participate in the Regional Partnership Grant program?

The program provides the necessary tools and support to help families struggling with parental alcohol or substance use. The RPG program provides parents with tools to address their substance use, to improve their parenting, and ultimately to strengthen families.
